BIG ISLAND - Summer in Hawaii 2019: Week 4 Recap

We made it to the 3rd island this summer: Hawaii's Big Island. This is the most southern land in all of the 50 US states.

We met up with Philip and Krista for this adventure and stayed in the Kailua-Kona area on the west side of the island. We had many adventures along the Kona coast and traveled up to the Waipi'o Valley Lookout and the little town of Waimea. Philip and Krista took a helicopter tour of the island to see the volcanoes and valleys on the Big Island. We also traveled far south to the (nearly) southern tip of the island (and the US!) to swim at the Green Sand Beach called Papakōlea. Dangerous Don picked us up in his truck and took us along the coast to avoid hiking for hours. This is a short recap but there will be a longer Big Island 2019 video as well as a Maui 2019 video! As always, we leave you with some photos:

The first stop was Ola Brewing. The second was Kona.
