I test out the new DJI Air 3 drone for the first time after setting it up with firmware and SD card. This was filmed on August 2nd and August 3rd of 2023 after receiving the new DJI Air 3 drone in the mail. I went out to the Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas and filmed the entire stretch starting at Landa Falls by Wurstfest and ending at the San Antonio Street Bridge just after the Tube Chute and Float In. #Comal #ComalRiver #ComalTexas #NewBraunfels #FloatingRiver #TubingRiver I used the DJI Mavic Air 2 drone to capture the complete aerial view of that first half of the river and filmed two angles of each segment: one looking straight forward at a low altitude and one angle looking straight down to capture a bird's eye view of the people floating in tubes. There were some random angles I captured as well when I was out there so I used those shots quite a bit towards the end - I just thought it'd be missed if I didn't include them. I shot it all in 4K at 23.976 frames per second and colored the shots as well. I lived in New Braunfels from 2019 until 2022 and shot tons of footage with my drones while living there: I plan to slowly release these videos, especially as changes are made to the landscape to show the before and after. For example, I shot the construction (as it took place) for Wurstfest's new building and Marmon Mok (the architect) hired me to create a start-to-finish video. I recently shot the new parking lot on Hinman Street by Wurstfest so I'll make a before and after video for that stretch of road. Let me know if you like this video, I'd love to hear your thoughts because I plan on finishing the entire river to make a second video from the San Antonio Street Bridge to the Last Exit for tubers. Starting in 2020, we've worked with MarmonMok Architecture of Texas to create a story of reincarnating the famous Wurstfest building that was destroyed in a 2019 fire. I happened to capture that fire with my drone in November of 2019 and I started making monthly updates as the design teams went to work on construction. In January of 2023, Philip Becker and I traveled down to St. Thomas to prep and film his condo for Airbnb - and we had a great time doing so. Here's the promotional video I created for him after filming throughout the trip with a Sony a7iii, a DJI Mavic Air 2 drone, an Osmo Action 1 and an Osmo Action 3. The official video location is on Vimeo: His condo is at Pavilions & Pools in between Sapphire Beach and Lindquist Beach. Very close to Red Hook and the ferries to St. John. The unit has a private pool in the back deck directly outside of the triple set of sliding glass doors. Sunrises are visible inside (if the drawstring curtains are up) and it's amazing. Garden shower is open to the elements and it features a full kitchen with new appliances. This was filmed on the DJI Osmo Action 3 action cam and it was shot in Fredericksburg, Texas at the Altstadt Brewery and at Silver Creek Beer Garden and Grille. I didn't color anything so it's all raw and I didn't add music - I left the audio raw. Shot at 2.7K at 24 FPS. Raw color mode at 5000K color temp. I personally loved the look - it's quite similar in quality of image to the DJI Osmo Action 2 camera but the design is the best yet - they went back to the Osmo Action 1 which is a huge deal. The Osmo Action 2 design wasn't great in my opinion. Magnets are great too. I noticed the exposure on auto adjusts wildly sometimes but sometimes it wasn't noticeable. The Osmo Action 1 was one of my favorites and I felt the exposure didn't dip in and out of dark/bright as much as the 3. Behind this Starbucks is the new H-E-B going in as they destroy the old Walnut H-E-B to pave out a parking lot for the new one. The settings were shot at 24 fps in 4K and were exported using the same settings. This was filmed in May of 2022 and features a timelapse of driving through the Hill Country on Texas State Highway 46 heading East from Hwy 16 in the Bandera/Pipe Creek area to New Braunfels and ends as we arrive at Interstate Highway 35. This was filmed in February of 2022 with the DJI Osmo Action 2 camera AND DJI Mavic Air 2 drone in 2.7K resolution. Shot by me, Jacob Wayne and features my brother Wilson West and my wife Brandi. We went fishing at the amazing Cypress Bend Park right there on the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, Texas. We also checked out Fischer Park - although I didn't film much there.
